WALT: Write a recount using the past tense

Life Ed visit by Nate

At the Life Ed class I learnt about the digestive system. I learnt that humans have two tubes in their bodies, the trachea and the oesophagus. When you eat the food goes down the oesophagus and travels into your blood. It also goes into your stomach. If any food goes into your large intestine, it comes out as goo.

Tight rope walking by Ocean.

Hearing people below me scream with delight and excitement made me feel weird.

I saw other kids shaking with nerves in the line.

I felt vulnerable, terrified but determined to carry on.

I wondered if my feet could hold my weight on the extremely thin rope.

The break in by Cohen

In 2001, a deli shop in Canada that still exists today got broken into. The glass case was smashed and all the the blueberry tarts were gone. It was strange that the other tarts and the money was not stolen. The owner decided to put up a CCTV camera to find the culprit and made some more blueberry tarts. In the morning he discovered the blueberry tarts were stolen again. He checked out the CCTV camera only to find out it was a bear who just loved his blueberry tarts !!!!!!!

Up in the air by Aayla

I heard the wind howling at me.

I saw trees of every shape and size shimmering in the sunlight.

I felt my stomach churning but suddenly I felt courageous and determined to carry on.

I wondered how long I could hold on.

Sky rope by Kai

I heard people shouting “Go Kai, go” and the swaying pine trees rustling in the wind.

I saw the wobbly rope and almost fell.

I felt excited and nervous at the same time.

I wondered if I fell would my hands hold my weight.

Life Ed visit by Kobe

Today we went to life education caravan and I met Michelle. She taught us about the digestive system. First, we put food in our mouth. Our saliva, teeth, and tongue help to break up the food. Next it goes into a small tube called the oesophagus. It takes 10 seconds for the food to travel down the tube. After that it goes into the stomach and breaks down because of the hydrochloric acid lining. After the food particles move through the small intestine. Finally the food travels through our blood to give us energy! But if we have 10 fingers worth of food, the 10th finger of food would go through the large intestine instead. Next the undigested food is pooped out! Before we left life ed Harold told us a joke: why did Tigger look down the toilet?   to find his friend Winnie the pooh! Life ed was amazing. I would love to go back when I’m a year 5.
