Enviro Waste Challenge

Zoe Skevington and Ethan Miller-Fitzgerald —

The 'Konini All Greens Group' want to put out a challenge to our community to reduce the amount of rubbish and plastic in our lunch boxes. We want to have more children with litterless lunches every day. This is better for all our landfills around Auckland. This is also part of a waste management plan that helps our school work towards being a 'Green Gold' Enviro School. We are currently a Silver Enviro School.

This means choosing yummy food that does not have lots of litter - sandwiches, vegetables, fruit, homemade muffins, sushi, homemade muesli bars.... A good lunchbox with compartments helps separate food.  At the moment we do have less rubbish and people are taking it home but we want to reduce it even more, so all our bins and your bins at home have less rubbish.  Can you take on the challenge?
