Digital Technologies
Build digital literacy, develop problem solving skills and creativity. Students learn programming concepts. They design and code fit-for-purpose digital solutions that consider others' needs.
Individual places OR whole class Digital Technologies are options. Classes are at NZ Curriculum Digital Technologies level 2-3.
Outcomes
Create interactive stories or games using Scratch software. Design and code fit-for-purpose digital solutions that consider others' needs. Learn programming concepts, think step-by-step to debug (fix) instructions. Extension learners also use micro:bits, Minecraft, explore Javascript, Python, and collaborate with other coding enthusiasts.
Feedback
Students “enjoyed freedom to code”, “really liked trying new things”, and “learnt heaps”. They liked that there was “help when we were stuck” and said “being able to be creative and do my own thing was very helpful”.
