Mid-Altitude Balloon Launch - Global Science Project scheduled to take place.
Join teachers from all over the globe for a simultaneous launch of Mid-Altitude Balloons (MAB) with a radio transmitter attached (SkyTracker).
MABs are a great tool for teaching physics, earth science, and global citizenship in all levels of education. Using the SkyTracker, launch your balloon to 12,000 meters and let it soar along with the JetStream. These balloons typically drift for several weeks, one even lasted over a year circling the globe over 22 times!
For this project, educators worldwide are being asked to commit to training on using the balloon in class and best practice on launching. We will simultaneously launch at 0937 UTC on March 20, 2021, the moment of the vernal equinox.
Be in quick registrations taking place during November!
All educators will be strongly encouraged to connect with other participating classrooms for cross cultural connections. Full project details are here: https://bit.ly/EquinoxLaunch
