Complex Thinking

Jenni Hammonds —

Complex Thinking is a programme tailored to extend students by shifting between the abstract and the physical. It is designed so learners discuss and reflect on the changing world around them.

The overarching theme of the programme is ‘change’. To better understand the concept, learners start by defining and coming up with examples of change - from getting taller, to stars dying out. They then look across these examples to see what connections can be made, how change relates to specific context in their lives, and in areas such as the development of talent.

In the later part of the programme, the eTeacher discusses with students where to take Complex Thinking such as exploring ethics or research projects.

Throughout the programme there are multiple ways students could contribute their thinking - discussions in Zoom, the chat, and adding to shared online docs.
