We'll be sharing your participation, and working alongside Te Taura Whiri (Māori Language Commission), Te Puna Kōkiri to celebrate te reo Māori.

14 o Hepetema
The 14th of September is the very moment the Māori Language Petition was presented to Parliament in 1972, on the first Māori Language Day. Three years later, it became what we now know as Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Hei tā te maramataka Māori ka tīmata a Mahuru Māori hei te 15 o Hepetema 2023
Mahuru, the 4th month of the Māori year, according to maramataka Māori begins on 15 September 2023.

This is a new challenge for Kōtui Ako, join us and take the next step in your reo Māori journey.

We have set up 3 WERO (challenges) to support everyone in their endeavors to uplift reo māori and carry out Mahuru Māori.

We have also set up Mahuru Māori Canva Templates for you to show your participation in our weekly wero.

There will be weekly spot prizes and offers from Māori education resource providers who have partnered with us. More info to come for registered kura and schools.
