Virtual schooling in Aotearoa New Zealand: The Kōtui Ako VLN story

Rachel Whalley —

We were recently invited to speak at a FLANZ (Flexible Learning Association of New Zealand) webinar on our work in New Zealand schools. Read on to find out more FLANZ and view the recorded webinar and resources.

Presenting to FLANZ was a valuable experience to share our story and make professional connections with a wider network. We are looking forward to presenting at FLANZ conference in August on NEX Kōtuitui 'Professional development for teachers in virtual environments: evolving online practice'.

"In this presentation Rachel Whalley and Lucie Lindsay

  • showcase the wide range of learning experiences available through their schools’ network,

  • explore how students and teachers are supported to grow their capacity in the online environment,

  • discuss system wide benefits gained, and barriers and challenges experienced.

We invite you to learn more about the opportunities that open, flexible, and distance learning has for our young people and share a vision of a future focused schooling system where we connect beyond the classroom."
