Ni hao! Learn about the Chinese culture and the basics of speaking Mandarin, the only official language of China and the most spoken language in the world.

Beginner and extension classes in Mandarin (spoken in China). Students will have the opportunity to understand and use familiar expressions and everyday vocabulary.

The focus is on speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Chinese and understanding aspects Chinese culture. Topics covered include; self-introduction, family, numbers, classroom expressions, colours, food and drink. 

Students will use the language through interaction, games and songs. 

NZ Curriculum: Learning Languages, Chinese Level 1-2 (Communication, Language Knowledge, Cultural Knowledge).
