The Perfect Game

Tim Morgan —

Increasing participation in physical activity - a hauora based learning programme.

The aim of this programme is to understand the concept of hauora and the effect of participation in games and activities. We look at what motivates us to join in and to keep participating. We will play games to help us discover how things like rules, equipment, the environment, and team size can change our enjoyment and experience.

We will also consider what can be gained by participating at various levels such as player, official, administrator and sponsor.

This programme is best suited to Year 5-8 students and teachers are encouraged to participate with their children as well. (Though students can work independently with their teachers support. )

Join me (Tim Morgan) for a weekly 30-45 minute discussion about some games you might try. Access the games online and then have a go. You will be required to share videos and post comments/reflections about the activities as you work towards your final outcome of creating the the “perfect game” .

I am a primary school teacher, deputy principal and Physical Education enthusiast. This learning programme is a first for me of teaching students online, however I have worked with adults online as a lecturer and PD provider.

Contact primary@vln.school.nz to register your interest to participate. Numbers are limited to 12 students for this first trial, so don't delay. There is no cost to participate in this programme at this time.
