Integrated collaborative teaching & learning
‘Our Island Your Island’ local curriculum topic was integrated in Halfmoon Bay School’s online Digital Technologies VLNP class this semester.
Learners planned then coded interactive, informative, digital outcomes. Feedback was collaboratively provided by their Principal, Ms J and their VLNP eTeacher, Lucie. Learners chose to use Scratch software to create stories or games, or to explore and apply the Minecraft Education edition. They chose whether to work individually or in pairs. The images show a Scratch story about the Chatham Island & the Chatham Island robin; Scratch quiz about Phillip Island; and Johnston Atoll being created in Minecraft and Macquarie Island livestock and Southern Lights created in Minecraft by Moby and Fionn. This hybrid learning happened in the classroom and the VLNP classroom.
