Building capability in online learning and teaching through Networks of Expertise.
September is a busy month for kaiako and support staff, with practice exams, reporting and the business of teaching! Having some space to dive into professional development allows time to get re-energised and take stock of what we do (and want to do) in our practice.
This month we celebrated Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori with practical sessions on mihimihi and pepeha, and what the difference is between the two. Check out the shared presentation slides to craft your own pepeha, or add elements to the structure you use.
We have now included the presentation from our friends at the Ministry of Education about the Te Rito platform. This platform enhances connections between schools and whanau by linking in to SMS in schools. Take some time to watch the webinar recording at your leisure.
We are gearing up for our annual hui in November. This event is on the 15th - save the date! The details of the keynote and programme will be available in term four.
Rachel Whalley and Lucie Lindsay attended (and presented to) the FLANZ Conference this term. Their takeouts are shared in this newsletter. We have shared the presentation from our Virtual Cafe session with you. Grab a coffee and catch up on the kaupapa of evolving practice in flexible learning.
Finally, the conversation around artificial intelligence continues. APODE week, coming up in November, will include a presentation about the status of generative AI in education. Join leaders in this kaupapa and find out where we are at as educators in this evolving journey.
Have a well-earned term break,
The NEX Kōtuitui team
