Te Rito is live! Watch the webinar here

This term the Ministry of Education shared Te Rito with our network. We are pleased to share the recording of the session.

In August we welcomed the team from Te Rito to present their mahi around a platform that facilitates sharing student information from schools' SMS - and picks up that information to travel with the ākonga throughout their schooling.

The intention is two-part. On the one hand, it is ākonga and whanau centered in that ākonga do not need to keep retelling their stories to their new schools. We know this can be stressful and off-putting for some. The other part is technology-based and helpful for our school principals and leaders when enrolling new ākonga. Information that travels with the ākonga is kept in a secure repository via the Te Rito platform, ready to be integrated with most SMS platforms.

The immediate priority of Te Rito is that connection - to ākonga, whanau and schools in order to streamline the process of moving to a new kura. The by-product of the platform is that it is also designed to be a tool for sharing student information and mahi with whanau, who will be able to see their child's progress.
