Guggenheim Museum interested in TLC Art

Ali Duncan —

Just kidding; wasn't it awesome though.

On Thursday TLC had an amazing art exhibition! Thanks to all our whānau for coming to see the children's artwork and showing them how much you appreciate and value their hard work. Our older children prepared some lovely lemon juice and iced some biscuits for their guests, this linked in to their procedural writing. They handed out leaflets (see below for this information) and acted as 'gallery guides' for all our special guests! They were so proud of themselves! This term we have travelled the world in search of amazing art! We have journeyed to Europe to explore the art work of Van Gogh and Matisse. We have travelled back in time to create Ancient Greek Vases and Roman mosaics. We have also explored Africa with our bogalafini mud fabric designs and Mexico with our Frida Kahlo inspired self portraits. We have also explored the concepts of art and the process of creating an art work which can take several stages and the evolving nature of which is, in itself, part of the actual art.
We are so proud of our tamariki for their perseverance and dedication to art. Their willingness to explore new concepts and work to the best of their ability. It has been a spectacular and exciting art journey!
