Growing up in Napier, young Anne wanted to be either a Solid Gold Dancer, a truck driver, or a witch. By the time she finished her degree at Massey University, she realised that her career path was taking a different direction - to Auckland College of Education. She began her 20+ years of teaching in a boys' secondary school and then went on her OE, living in London and traveling throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

While teaching in London, Anne also became a qualified primary school teacher. She met her husband, Stu, at the Pamplona ‘Running of the Bulls’ and they now have four children - India and Hunter, in Year 9 and Miller and Sophia, who are in Year 8 at Ladbrooks School. Other than her family, friends, and travel, her other passions include sports, theatre, and art.

Anne still dances any chance she gets, is looking forward to getting her HV licence, and loves getting dressed up as a witch at any given opportunity.
