Starting School at Ngā Puna Tapuwai

Dot Agnew —

Starting school is a big deal and it's important to us that all tamariki and whanau have a successful transition.

The beginning of school looks different for every family and we tailor your child's start to what works for them.  We place huge value on the home/school relationship and look forward to getting to know your child and your whanau.

Please download the Hero app to keep up to date with news and learning.

Enrolling

Your child can start school between age five and six and you must enrol your child by their sixth birthday.  When your child has started at school, they must attend school every day.  Ladbrooks School doesn't have cohort entry, so children generally start school on their birthday.

We tailor transition to school for your child, so please enrol your child as early as possible.  This will ensure there is enough time to meet with teachers, do class visits and for a teacher to visit your child in their learning space.

If you are in-zone, please contact Dot in our office to arrange a time to meet with Sean  (tumuaki) to show you around our kura, introduce you to kaiako and answer any questions you have.

There are a number of forms to complete the enrolment process please use this link to access details.

We look forward to meeting and getting to know you.  Welcome to our very special school.
