Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Kahikatea Speech Competition held recently at school. It was a tough battle and all competitors did extremely well.
This term the Kahikatea Team have been working very hard on writing speeches. These speeches could be to inform or to entertain. Some children selected humorous topics such as, ‘A Day in the Life of an Ant’, ‘Siblings' and 'The Cat Burglar’, while other speeches were informative about ‘The Human Body’, ‘Phobias’ and ‘Sharks’. Over the last few weeks children have been presenting these speeches in class with the finalists presenting their speeches on Thursday 23rd August. Two expert judges, Tania Harris and Kate Kernaghan, had the unenviable job of selecting the winners.
The two finalists will represent Leamington School at the Cambridge Rotary Schools Speech Contest on Wednesday 19th September at Cambridge East School. Congratulations to all the students who took part.
