Welcome back to Term 4 - it is going to be a busy few weeks that will go extremely quickly!
Welcome back to Term 4. We trust you have enjoyed the last few weeks with your children and have had opportunities to build memories together.
This term is going to go extremely quickly with only 9 weeks until the end of the school year - forty three and a half school days once we factor in Labour Weekend! This is the time of the year where we get to harvest the fruits of the relationships that have been formed over the year as we enjoy many of the special events that happen. Spring Fair and Colour blast, Grandparents Day, Athletics, Year 6 Social, End of Year Assemblies, fun days, Road Patrollers Day, meeting next year's teacher etc, etc. Among all of that is plenty of time in the class to help our children reach their learning, social and emotional goals.
Over the next two weeks, families will indicate preferences for 2019 as we try to pull all the pieces together to make next year another great year.
In week 4 we also have a one-off Linc Ed Parent Teacher workshop where we open up Linc Ed to our community to see all the work that teachers have been doing on this in the background. This is replacing our main form of written reporting to parents. We are confident parents will see the immediate benefits for both them, and their children, when we have this fully up and running - and have worked past the inevitable hurdles of people having difficulty logging in due to forgotten passwords and obsolete email addresses we have on file!
We invariably get asked about when the pool will open up this term. Our pool is heated, but it is the air temperature that causes children to get cold. Spring still has some chilly surprises in store for us, but when summer decides to arrive the pool will open!
From a personal angle, I am really looking forward to the opportunities we are going to open up for our children this term. I have been able to finally step away from the Community of Learning lead role and can now put all of my attention back into Leamington. It has been an incredibly beneficial two years in the lead role both for our community and our school, but I am looking forward to taking the best of what I have seen and heard and exploring what place it may have in our school.
Enjoy the last few weeks. They will go fast, but our goal is to make these the next few weeks not only fantastic but a springboard into an even better 2019.
