Kia ora Whānau,
We have had a super busy term with sports even during the 'quiet' season of winter!
Firstly, we have been preparing for our annual Cross Country during week 7 all term. It was a fantastic day full of involvement with our community. Thank you to all those who made it out, we appreciate it!
Results:
From this event, these tamariki advanced to Kowai Cross Country in week 8! JayJay, Zena, Aaliyah, Honour, Sophia, Ezzy, Dixie, Sadie, Joshua, Chase, Leo, Lucas, Hunter, Chucky, Reuben, Dougal, Eddison, Josef, Huey, and Takumi. It was an extremely wet and muddy event, but we are super proud of all of these tamariki for giving it a go.

Dougal - 4th Eddie - 5th

Jayjay - 1st Joshua - 3rd
Unfortunately, year 4's can't advanced to Canterbury Cross Country in week 9. However, we wish Chase, Dougal, Eddison, JayJay, Joshua, Lucas, and Zena the best of luck! We recognised those placers from Kowai & our School Cross Country on Friday 21st with certificates!
In other news, during week 6 we had Lachlan Olbrich from the Canterbury Rams come and talk to our tamariki about his journey as a basketball. He had us in awe of his height and content. We also spent some time with our year 5 - 8 tamariki who are a part of our Friday Night Basketball teams. We were also very fortunate to have some of our tamariki at a corporate table over the weekend at a Rams game watching Lochie and his friends play in Christchurch! Thank you Canterbury Rams!
During the second half of this term, we have been spending our last couple of weeks with Cody who is leaving at the end of this term. He has been teaching our seniors ultimate frisbee and our juniors basketball. We have really appreciated our time with Cody and the skills he has taught us over the years.
