You might know me as Mr Scott / Andy, I teach year 5/6 in the Pukeko Kea team with Whaea Jenny. I also undertake the sports coordinator and health / PE role within Leithfield. I am born and raised in Ōtautahi, Christchurch on the east side in Waimairi beach. I am the youngest of 4 (2 brothers, 1 sister) making me the pōtiki of our whānau. I have enjoyed living along the coast my entire life and still do with our puppys Georgie (golden retriever) and Harry (chocolate lab).
During my downtime I spent a lot of time creating and moving. I enjoy making wooden toys or renovation projects around the house. I also enjoy getting out of the house, getting into sports and nature with photography being one of my bigger passions. I also spent a large amount of time in our community, one of my biggest commitments year round is to the charity Camp Quality where I spend every January.
During my preschool years, my whaea was training to be a primary school teacher at UC and after completing year 13 at Christchurch Boys' high, I decided to take the same journey at University. During my last year of high school, I was working at an after school program at Selwyn house and moved to Spreydon school oscar after high school. This position, alongside my placements in Christchurch Schools, taught me large deal about community and fostered my passion for effective education.
I found Leithfield through my whānau that go to our beautiful kura. Looking back, it might be the proximity to the coastline that also encouraged me! I have enjoyed getting to know this community and it's quirks and it definitely feels like my second home!
