Arts on Tour NZ and Balcairn Hall present their latest event!

Sarah Marshall —

Looking for Alaska - Sunday, 13th August at 7:30pm

Husband and wife, Aaron Gott and Amy Maynard, from Hamilton, are a folk-pop drawing from a diverse range of country, soul, folk and Maori influences. Hard hitting and thought-provoking original music inspired by their life and travels.

Aaron and Amy formed the folk band Looking for Alaska in 2016. That year, their self-titled debut spent five weeks in the NZ album charts before the band toured Aotearoa, Australia and Europe.

With almost a decade of performing together under their belt, Looking for Alaska will serve up an intimate, authentic performance in the Balcairn Hall – one of the stops on their current Arts on Tour NZ tour.

The duos’ familiarity, closeness and authenticity are fuelled by their real-life romance, creating a magnetic performance style that captivates their audience time and time again.

For 8 years they have been music tutors in schools around Hamilton and are co-owners of The Porch recording studio in Hamilton.
