A big day out at Spencer Park followed by a sleepover in the hall. This was a big day for all involved and some great memories were made :)

For maths we completed a statistical investigation to find out what Mrs Munro should buy for breakfast.

For writing we wrote letters to our parent helpers and recounted our adventures.

At the camp, I slept next to Nellie and Honour. At camp, we sang songs and played Crocodile River. We ate fruit kebabs and we played go home stay home. I really liked camp this time and my favorite thing was playing with my friends. For breakfast I had toast and it was good. Kailly Bresson

A few weeks ago the school went on a trip to Spencer Park. When we got there they split us into groups. My group was Jack, Hunter, and Audrey. First, we went down to the playground/paddling pool, second, we went on a Scavenger hunt, third, we went down to the beach, and lastly, we went down to the farmyard/wetlands. My favourite thing was building a sandcastle on the beach. That night, year three to four stayed the night at school, and I liked the games played. In the morning I had breakfast and got ready for school. We had the most amazing time. Mabel Barber

My favorite part was when we played crocodiles in the river. I liked when we had to walk on the logs. We had one big log and one short log and we had to try not to fall off. Eva Thurlow

At the beach, I was making a sand castle and I came up with an idea to put underground entrances. Me, Stevie, and Darcy made three underground entrances and we had like a flag thing on top of the castle. My second favorite part was the farm because there were chickens there and I have chickens at home. I have 6 chickens at home and they save a lot of money because eggs are expensive. Makakai Ferris

At camp, we played games, sang songs, and read a story. The games we played were human knot, a river game, and Go Home Stay Home (that was my favourite). Then we went downstairs to the hall where we were sleeping. We got our pj’s on and brushed our teeth. Then we had to go to sleep. A lot of people were moving around in their beds. It was hard to get to sleep but I still could. In the morning when I woke up, nearly every kid was running around so I got up and got dressed. Then we had breakfast, the options were toast or cereal. I had toast. Then we all went upstairs and did school. Dixie Herewini

At camp when we first got there we played games. It was very fun but stressful. I had a great time playing Go Home Stay Home which was my favorite. It was great but tricky. We played crocodile river, we kept on falling off, and my team kept on screaming at me and it was hard to concentrate. We also played a human tangle game and it was super hard and tricky. I had a great time and it was cool and it was a lot of fun. At the start, we got to play on the flying fox and the swing. My favorite thing was playing Go Home Stay Home and all the teams were dropping like flies. Josef Copplestone

When it was camp and we had some breakfast I had Nutella on toast. Basically, our table was full of Nutella but Honour had butter on toast. Ezzy had five bowls of Weetbix and all of our yummy breakfast. I had like one or two more pieces of toast and so did the others. After that, I went to the bathroom to wash my face. Then we went up to the court to play some games but me and Honour just walked around up and down on the field. Sophia Gardener

At Spencer Park, we had a sand castle competition and we put a huge stick in the ground. We made a huge sand castle. When we got back we went to the farm and found some eggs. We also looked at pigs, birds, and cute fluffy rabbits. Piper Thurlow

At the camp at school, me and my team were playing some games. We were playing a tangle game. Also as well we managed to get untangled. We played go home stay home. For the last round, my team was the second to-last winners. We also played crocodile river and our team was so close to winning. Lucy Wairepo

At the school sleepover, we played a game of crocodile river and we came second. Also in our team, we had six people and it was hard after the game Mr Cavanagh sang songs on his guitar and we made fruit kebabs. Evie Grace

This is in the morning on Friday and I was having breakfast and it was porridge. I had porridge twice. I love porridge so I had to have it twice. Porridge is my favorite breakfast to eat. I also had hot chocolate. I haven’t had hot chocolate in a long time. I never get hot chocolate at home. I only get cocoa. It is very strong. It takes me so long to drink it. Sadie Harris

This is me and some of my friends at camp in the morning! This is us after sleeping in the hall!! We were very tired because a lot of people were talking !! I love this photo because first of all look at my face, second of all Sophia is looking directly at the camera and everybody else is talking. Oh yeah, I can't forget about Ari's face haha!! We might have been very tired but we had an amazing time! I'm going to miss staying at school for a night but next year I will be able to go to school camp for three days! We played some fun games! There was this one game I don't remember what it was called but it was a crocodile game! We also played Go Home Stay Home, one of my favorites!  Mr Cavanah sang some songs and I think that was one of my favourite bits but anyway, I absolutely had a blast!! I am so grateful that I could come to school camp for the night! By the time we got into the hall, we were very tired. After five minutes of playing in the hall, we got changed, brushed our teeth, and then we did the same thing in the morning!!! Honour Williams 

This is when we were playing Crocodile River and I was in a group with Bronik, Macy, Honour, and Katie. It was really fun. We played go home stay home and we almost won. We sang songs and we had fruit kebabs. Arthur Weaver

This was at camp when me, Hadley, Olivia, and Ari were playing crocodile river and we won. Then we played go home stay home. We were seekers first. The first group we found was in the back of the hedge. After we found almost all of the groups, we hid near the new building. We did untangle the human knot. We sang songs with Mr C. Takumi Kozak

At school camp, it was a little bit weird at breakfast because we were at school but I liked it. It was the best. I loved it. Macy Marriott

On Thursday night we had a school camp and when I arrived I saw beds. Then I went to talk to Huey and after everyone came it started to get crowded so Mrs Luck took us upstairs to play. First I went on the flying fox but it got busy so I went on the swings. After 5 minutes I heard the whistle so I jumped off the swings and I ran over. Then the teacher said, “Go to the court.” I ran over as fast as I could and when we got to the court the challenge was to solve a human knot so we started. It was hard but we did it. Then we did it with two groups, it was hard but we did it. I was surprised. Then we made fruit kebabs and then I sat by Kererū. Then we sang some songs with Mr C and the songs were great. Then we played hide and seek so we went to hide. We hid in the hedge, we stayed quiet but we got found first so we went to the bench. Then it was our turn to seek and we were spotting groups one by one by one but then it was time to sleep and I didn't stay the night. Beauden Black               

Mr C was singing songs at camp. He was singing a crocodile song and a candy song. We got cookies and fruit at our camp. We had to sing with Mr C and after we got to play go home stay home. We hid in the hedge with my team and with another team in there as well. They stole our spot and we got caught, we didn't win at all. We were so close to winning but we came second place. We still lost but it was still fun. We won last year with Mrs Luck and we played crocodile in the river. We played heaps of games at camp and it was so fun. It was so cool at camp and in the morning all the girls woke me up. I was so tired. I fell asleep and we ate breakfast. I had peaches and Weetbix for breakfast. I brushed my teeth in the morning.  Bronik Hicks

This is me and my group making a big sand castle at the beach. Then we did a treasure hunt and we went to the farm too, it was fun. The treasure hunt stuff to find was a chicken, tree, leaf, insects, spider, rocks, and twigs. Then we had two choices to go swimming or go to the playground. I went to the playground and they let us in the pool. Me and Josef dumped our heads in the pool and legs. Then we went back to the playground. I went down on the spinning thing, it was so fun.  Hadley Schaffer

On Thursday night I went to camp and I was early. I found a basketball from my classroom so me and Dad had a game. Ari wandered off to his classroom and Mrs Luck let us play in her classroom. I did some drawing and then it was time to set up our beds in the empty hall. Then Jack arrived and set up his bed next to mine. Then Beauden got here, and we had a conversation, and while we were chatting more people arrived. The hall was getting crowded, and then Hadley, Josef, Bronik, and Arthur got there. Then it was time to go up the hill and play. I played tag with my friends and then we went to play the games. First, we played crocodile river and my team came second to last. Then we played the human knot and it was hard but we did it. Then we played go home stay home. On the first round, we won but on the second we were spotted first. I also got fruit kebabs and we sang songs with Mr Cavanagh. Then I went down the hill for bed and Mrs Luck read a book to us. Later on, I got quite hot and had trouble breathing. Another ten minutes passed, and the heat was getting overwhelming. Then I wanted to go home and started crying. Then Mrs Munro dragged my bed into the middle of the room next to her. Then I told her I had a temperature and she phoned Dad to pick me up. When Mrs Munro got back I needed to vomit so I went to the toilet. When I got out, I went outside grabbed a bucket and waited for Dad to get here. When he got here I hopped in the car and left. Huey Sutherland

In the school hall, we had an overnight camp and we played lots of fun games.  Mr Cavanagh played funny songs and one of the songs made Mrs Munro laugh.  I made yummy toast for everyone.  We had to do the dishes after we had eaten.  Katie Thomson
