Aniwaninwa had an awesome time at the Canterbury Museum and the Overnight School Camp

At the museum we took part in two lessons 'Iwi Tawhito Whenua Hou' and 'Life in Christchurch'. We found out what life was like for the early Polynesian people that first came to New Zealand and how they got here. We also learned about what it was like in Christchurch throughout the mid 19th century. We enjoyed lunch in Botanic Gardens and saw the flower wall in memory of the mosque attacks. In the evening we came back to school and slept overnight in the hall. We toasted marshmallows, played spotlight outside and other games indoors. It was really fun going to the Museum and knowing about the Polynesian arrival and getting to use the fire tool and the drill - Tahlia

When the old people killed the animals they killed all sorts of animals like kea and kiwi - Joshua
