How are you feeling?

Andy Scott Rose —

It's cool to kōrero - Week 2, Term 3

Every ākonga at Leithfield is able to ask someone how they're feeling in Te Reo Māori. You say...

Kei te pēhea koe

Let's break that down...

Kei te = present tense, meaning i'm asking you now (pronoun)
Pēhea = how (action)
Koe = you (pronoun)

And... If you want to reply, it's similar!

Kei te (emotion) au

Emotions could be...

Ngenge = Tired
Harikoa = Happy
Pai = Good
Makariki = Cold
Wera = Hot
Riri = Frustrated
Pōuri = Sad
Māuiui = Sick

For pronunciation help, ask your tamariki or consult Te Aka Māori dictionary https://maoridictionary.co.nz/

So, kei te pēhea koe?
