Introducing staff member- Niamh O'Connor

Rob Cavanagh —

Kia Ora Leithfield school community!

My name is Niamh O’Connor (pronounced Neve) and I am so excited to be joining the teaching staff at Leithfield School.

A little bit about me to introduce myself: I am originally from a small, rural, farming and fishing village, called Castletownbere, in West Cork, Ireland. I moved to our capital city, Dublin, after high school and graduated university in 2010. I have eight years teaching experience, mostly in a seaside town called Malahide, just north of Dublin.

In 2017 I was lucky to be offered a sabbatical from my teaching post to travel and widen my teaching experience. I travelled & volunteered around Cuba, Mexico, Belize and Guatemala before finding myself in Christchurch where I have been doing some relief work. I have fallen in love with New Zealand and am looking forward to becoming a member of your community here at Leithfield.

Some of my interests include: gymnastics, rugby, basketball, skiing, swimming, kayaking, reading and cooking.

If you see me about do say hello!
