Tūī Camp
Such fun!
Tūī camp was an absolute blast and I know the kids gained so much; Social skills, resilience, new experiences, bush survival skills and so much fun!
These are what some students said:
My highlights are going to the hot pools and going on the hydroslide with Mrs because we went really fast, jet boating in my banana costume and coming 4th in the amazing race- Amelia
Highlights: Jet boating because it was exciting. I enjoyed jet boating because we went close to the cliff. I enjoyed the pools because we were there for 7 hours-Archie
My highlights were mountain biking, jetboating and sleep. I struggled on the snakes and ladders because of the bumps. I was very happy to be in the same cabin as jake. It was also good coming home. The best food was smores. I appreciate clint for driving me. The yum ice cream. Me and ben both winning the balloon game- Connor
Highlights: Jet Boating, Pools, Tree Climbing, Trying To Find The Bush Lady And The Amazing Race Because It Was All Fun.
I Appreciate All The Parents/Teachers For Driving Us Down And Planning/Working Hard For Us To Come On This Camp.
Part I Would Do Differently: Gone Sleep Faster At Night.
I Struggled With: Bush Skills- Harvey
Highlights: The Amazing Race is really fun. I enjoyed the activity each parent ran to get the next clue.My team won the whole race that was awesome! I love jet boating. 360 was the best. It was a bit scary when the man was driving so close to the rocks- Tahlia
I appreciate: The company that brought the food because it was really good.
The parents because they took time out of each and every day to help us for a week.
Miss for setting up and organizing basically everything- Evie
Thank you to the BOT for your support and to all the parent helps: Darren Shatford, Jason Pond, Noel Anderson, Tania Pulley, Craig McIntosh. Thanks to Amelia Hindson, Kylie Thomson and Luke Ronchi who came up for just a day to support when we needed it!!
The most loved activities were tree climbing (rock climbing but up a tree), jet boating and mountain biking. EVERYONE loved toasting marshmallows and the delicious sandwiches- We still miss and talk about the sandwiches in Tūī!
The adults loved the nightline and the blind-tasting task. The facial expressions and exclamations from the students were pretty hilarious.
We also all enjoyed swimming. We were at the pools for 7 hours! I really didn't think the students would enjoy swimming for so long but I had to get them out in the end because we had to get back to camp for dinner! I went down the hydro slide TWENTY times!!! I truly didn't think students would want to go down with their teacher, but then we do have pretty cool students at Leithfield.
Enjoy the photos!
