Play Based Learning is a growing trend in junior classrooms across New Zealand. Here are some examples of what we get up to during our play time...

Each day the students in Teoteo are able to access inside and outside play during class time. As you will know, if you have made it into Ruru recently, the classroom has been set up as a Play Based area, ready for all kinds of creativity and adventures. So far this term we have had doctor, vet, aeroplane, shop, family, pet show, animals and more in play. The photos say it all.

Although this may appear to just be play student access all of our wonderful New Zealand Curriciulum during this time, from science and the arts to literacy and health. Watch out for our learning stories in coming newsletters to find out what we learn as we play.
