In Tui class the children collaboratively made a Whakatauki Poster. It symbolises “strength is not as an individual, but as a collective”. Ehara taku toa i te toa, takitahi, He toa takatini.

As part of our From Here to There Theme, Tui literacy class has been writing some stories from the Perspective of being a refugee. We have published these stories into a book and they are well worth coming into our classroom to read. The children have mastered the art of using figurative and emotive language and their stories are very powerful.Here are just a couple of our stories from Jodie and Dylan. The class has also been very busy crafting stories for the Hurunui Writing Competition. The topic was around a Time theme and they have produced some very interesting pieces of writing, we wish them luck in the competition!
