Tots to Teen Magazine

What’s in this issue? https://issue2006si.totstoteens.co.nz/

With holidays on the way, and families looking to travel NZ with kids, we have collated 376 things to do in Aotearoa. Now that the chilly days are arriving, we have the deets on how many layers your child needs to wear, how to keep your family in good health with good food, and we share some helpful advice about common ear, nose and throat complaints. We have two super-simple and delicious recipes with brown rice (you’ll be hooked on the cheese balls, we promise!) and we look at cures for our sporty kids who develop Osgood Schlatter (knee pain) and Sever’s disease (heel pain).

As always, we have many wonderful competitions for readers to enter, and a family fun page for everyone to enjoy.

Kidsfest is back for the July School Holidays!

Lincoln Envirotown Trust

The Lincoln High School sustainability council has started serious work on devising craft activities and simple science experiments for our annual Kidsfest Event which will take place on the morning of Friday 10th July at the Lincoln Event Centre. This year children are invited to explore our wetlands and through hands on interactive craft and science will learn about the life to be found in our wetlands and the importance of them. Owing to the immense popularity of this event in previous years it has become necessary to make this ticket only – please find details at kidsfest.co.nz. This craft morning is a truly community experience with the older students getting as much out of it through their organizing and mentoring as the younger ones doing the activities and the learning.

The Focus for Future - Selwyn Environmental Film Competition was “launched” in May for those who might want to start thinking about their production as we experienced various levels of “lockdown”. In the past we know that a number of these films have been planned and produced during the July holidays and we hope that many will see this as an interesting and enjoyable way of spending their time while delivering important messages. All details of the competition and the Awards Night in September, can be found on Eventbrite or Lincoln Envirotown’s Facebook Page. Further details are at the end of the notices.
