Assessment & Reporting - Revised 2020

Jen Hodgkinson —

The purpose of this article is to update you on our updated plans around assessment and reporting post covid-19 interruptions.

Progressions Based Reporting

Hero is able to provide “progressions based reporting” which shows your child’s progress referenced to the New Zealand Curriculum.

With progressions based reporting, the focus is on progress in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum.

Term 3: Mathematics and Statistics which includes the number & algebra, geometry and measurement, and statistics strands.

We have completed our assessment for this cycle and have also reviewed the progressions.

What does this mean?

We are now in the process of uploading new, easier to understand goals that will more accurately reflect the progress made by our learners.

These will become visible to parents on Monday 21 September.

Term 4: English which will include listening, reading & viewing and speaking, writing & presenting

Please see this document for the reviewed 2020 reporting schedule.

                                                              ****

Please note that we will continue sharing snapshots of learning using the Hero Celebrating Learning and Values posts (Kopara & Kahikatea) SeeSaw (Tui & Kereru) and My Learning posts (Maunga/Kahurangi) throughout the year.

Ako Conferences will take place in week 2 of term 3 and week 4 of term 4.

We will continue to update you with our progress in this area.

Please feel free to reach out to the leadership team if you have questions in the meantime.

Kind regards,

The LWG Team
