From the Principal's Desk

Sheree Garton —

Nau mai haere mai. Dear Parents / Caregivers, this week's newsletter is packed with so much information from across the school, so keep this one handy for future reference.

At L.I.S we rely heavily on ‘Facebook’ sharing on our School page — as things are often changed due to weather and covid restrictions. You do not need to have a facebook page, nor do you need to be a member of our page to have a look, but it is our most up-to-date method of sharing about what is going on here at L.I.S.

Our newsletters come out monthly, but school trips and other information is shared directly with those involved via trip notices for important events such as sporting tournaments, mufti days and fundraisers.

Our students have in class notices via our ‘Collingwood daily’ —shared everyday with all students. So have a read, feel proud and do inform us if there is something that you would like celebrated via our school newsletter or Facebook page.

Sheree Garton, Principal

Welcome to our new BOT

On the 10th of August our new BOT will be in place. I just want to take this opportunity to thank some amazing people who have supported me as Principal and the school over the past 3 years. Together we have celebrated so much together, had some hard conversations and have always had the students at heart of the matter.

Thank you Rachael Davis for signing up to be our BOT chair knowing that your own children were heading off to College — your experience as BOT chair has made such a difference.

Thank you Esme Bell, who with a cultural lens, kept asking the right questions, and pushed us to be better.

We are so grateful to Stacey Grover who stepped into BOT chair, knowing that her next child is a few years away and bought her amazing skill set to the table each and every meeting, and even more grateful that you are staying on for another 18 months.

Ofa Taeiloa, we just thank you for the support you have given us all — helping us to understand and support Pasifika youth, giving your time so freely to support building projects, sporting events and so much more. We are so pleased Ofa, that you too will continue with this great work.

So, who is new? Watch this space! In our next newsletter, I will introduce you to the new team.
