Hunters take out Colts Plate
After a disjointed year the Hunters shone through in the Colts Plate Final against Shirley
It has been a tough year for this young group of men having numerous games cancelled through poor ground conditions, university holidays and the resulting stop start nature of their campaign. Through it all they managed to develop a great team culture and picked up some good wins at the end of the season to take them to the plate semi-final.
The side took on a resurgent Suburbs team in the semi final and although a bit scratchy to start with came away with a good win 32-25 to reach the plate final. The Shirley side were physically fit and fast that led to a high intensity game with plenty of attack.
Lincoln University were able to maintain a good lead and began to dominate in the later stages of the match to come away with the Plate Trophy with a 24-10 victory.
Thanks must go to the teams coach, Allan Lawson, who managed and coached by himself this year while being ably supported by Henry Barron's physiotherapy expertise and Flynn Crean's captaincy skills
