Tēnākoe/kōrua/koutou - formal welcome greeting meaning ‘hello to you’
Tēnā- that (near or connected with the listener) - may be followed by a noun or stand alone.
koe - you (1 person) l kōrua - you (2 people) l koutou - you (3+ people)
Atamārie - Ahiahimārie - semi formal greeting meaning ‘Good morning/afternoon’
mārie - (verb) to be peaceful, friendly, harmonious, amicable, composed, abate.
ata - morning l ahiahi - afternoon
Mōrena - informal greeting meaning ‘morning’
Kiaora - informal greeting meaning ‘hi, hello, thanks’
