Play is the Way
'Play is the Way' is how we help our tamariki learn social and emotional competencies. They are the skills we all use to handle ourselves and our relationships with others. Tamariki always need good role models and appropriate behaviour is best learnt through modelling by the adults in their lives.
This week our focus is "Treat others as you like them to treat you". This is the 'Golden Rule'.
Here are some ways we can show this:
- Asking politely when borrowing equipment
- Line up nicely without pushing in
- Apologise when we do something wrong
- Play fairly
- Respect each others things
- Use our manners
- Be kind
What does the Golden Rule look like at your place?
