Gretchen's Update

Gretchen Smith —

I enjoyed talking with Michael and Zeelyie Room 6, who were both working hard on solving their maths problems this morning.

Kia ora e te whānau

What a term it has been and then daylight saving to top it all off!

Today, the "Stars of the Term" are being treated to a trip to Orana Park. Well done to all those students who are always trying their best every day!

Thank you so much for all your mahi as a whānau contributing to our survey. Kerry Hall from "Grow Waitaha" is collating all this information and we will be able to share the results early next term and see the common ideas. Last Monday, Kerry spoke to groups of tamariki across the school to find out what they loved about our school. The number 1 thing that our tamariki love is the teachers. No surprises there - but a huge kudos to our great staff. Lucky Linwood Avenue!

Next term we are going to publish our newsletters fortnightly on the even weeks of the term. Many schools do this as we have other ways to let you know important information.

Photo money needs to be in on Friday the last day of term.  If you have lost your envelope or it didn't make it home, please send $15 with your child's name and room number on a piece of paper or you can pay Heritage Photos with online banking:  01 0804 0003127 01  but we still need the envelope or a note saying that you have paid on line and your child's name and room number.

Next term, is a really short term because we started early in the year. Every year all schools have a certain number of days that we have to be open for and schools choose when to start.

Term 4 starts on Monday October18 and finishes at 3pm on Monday 13 December.Everyone will need to bring his/her sunhat as it is compulsory everyday in Terms 1 and 4. Every child is given a green named sunhat when they start at our school. Please  have a look at home.

Have a great break.

Be safe, be kind and fair.

Have a great weekend! Kia pai tō mutunga wiki!
