Play is the Way
'Play is the Way' is how we help our tamariki learn social and emotional competencies.
This week we are focussing on "Having the reasons for the things we say and do". This life raft is about making sure you are thinking before you do and say something. In classes we might talk about some of the following ideas:
Make sure you don't do something because someone else told you to
Respect the right of others
Think before you act
Respect rules because rules have reasons
Be a strong friend
Put my thinking in charge, not my feeling
Stay away from gossip
Be kind and forgiving
