Gretchen Smith —

Huge thank you to the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra musicians who visited us on Wednesday.

Thursday 10 August/ Tāite 10 Here-turi-kōkā/Aso Tofi 10 Aukuso / Huwebe 10 Agosto 2023

Tēnā tātou i raro i te maru o Ngāi Tahu, Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa, As-salamu alaykum, Hola, Talofa lava, Kamusta, Namastee, Namaskāra, Ni sa bula vinaka, Kia orana, Fakatalofa atu, Malo e lelei.

Kia ora e te whānau,

This has been another busy week.

Team Tui Swimming

Team Tui has been swimming every day courtesy of NZCT funding for which we are grateful. In a country surrounded by water, I think that  is very important that every child should be able to swim and know how to be safe in the water.

Christchurch Symphony Orchestra

On Wednesday, we were so lucky to have some members of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra at our school. They introduced their instruments, demonstrated them and then performed for us. They brought a harp, flute, violin, viola, oboe, trumpet, trombone and snare drum. The tamariki really enjoyed listening to the different themes. They played snippets from the 'William Tell Overture','The Swan from Swan Lake,' 'Harry Potter', 'The Mario Brothers' movie, and 'Frozen' to name a few. Then Team Kea worked with the CSO experimenting with drumming, etc.

Knox was lucky enough to be chosen to play a little harp and accompany the harpist.
