Gretchen's Update
It was a pleasure to see Analia, Shane and Yelaena redeeming their 100 Dojo points on Tuesday. These three tamariki had persevered and saved all their points for a Hot Chocolate, instead of spending them in small amounts!

Monday was photo day ! We had the best attendance for a very long time. Tino pai! It was also the day when it was announced that we no longer need to wear masks at school unless you want to.
It's Te Wiki o Te reo Māori / its Māori language week !
Did you know that te reo is one of the three official languages of Aotearoa/New Zealand?
This week we are celebrating by trying our best to use as much Te Reo Māori as we can. Tamariki are trying to be caught using te reo in the playground so they will get a Gotcha ticket! They are then writing their name and room number on the ticket and putting it in the Big Mac Hamupeka in front of the office.
It is proving very popular!
Kia Kaha Te Reo Māori!
Yesterday we farewelled Rachelle, one of our Learning Assistants who is off on a new career pathway. We thank her for her huge contribution to Te Huarahi/ Linwood Avenue School. She will be very much missed.
This week we have welcomed rua /two assessors from the National Monitoring Study of Student Achievement project who have been testing groups of Year 3- 6 which will form an important picture of achievement across Aotearoa/New Zealand. Kia ora to all those parents who agreed for their tamariki to take part.
Our Board is now complete with the election of Lisa Cowie as our staff representative. Our next Board meeting is Wednesday 28 September at 1:30pm.
He tino pai te mahi to all whānau who have made an effort to be at school before 9am this week.
Just a reminder that Monday 26 September is a public holiday, and that means a long weekend which coincides nicely with Daylight saving, which starts on Sunday 25 September.
Have a great weekend!
Kia pai te mutuka wiki!
