Kia ora e te whānau
Last Friday we paid tribute to Sherilee Hērangi Harrison, who has had a very long association with Linwood Avenue School and contributed so much.
Sherilee is a Linwood Avenue treasure and her legacy will live on, as will her association with our school. We are very grateful for her mahi, talent and time. Kia ora to her whānau, and the past ākonga and whānau her took time to pay their respects.
Ako Hui is coming up on Monday 28-Wednesday 30 June. This is the time for your child, your child's teacher and you to meet together to share the learning that has been happening. These hui are only 15 minutes. If you need a longer time or there are confidential matters that need to be discussed or shared, then it is best to make a time before or after school with the kaiako/teacher.This is a very important time.
On Monday 28 June school will be closing at 1pm to allow teachers to have their lunch before starting the Ako hui/ learning meetings. This means that less whānau will need to come out at night.
Our 'Matariki Family Fun' night is next Thursday 4:30-5:30pm. Tamariki have been working hard on art, weaving and dramatic performances that will be on display for your enjoyment. Activities will also be running in classes so you can share and play with your tamariki.
Just a reminder that the school will need to close at 12:30 pm on Wednesday 23 June to allow teachers to attend paid union meetings. We would ask that you pick your children up at that time. There will be a separate note about this soon.
This Friday is Teacher Only day. Our teachers are visiting Tuahiwi Marae for a day of learning.
