Kōwhai Whānau Rōpū Dean's Report

Jesse Harding —

An update from the Kōwhai Dean

Kia ora koutou.

As we rapidly approach the end of Term 2, our senior students will be working towards NCEA Level One, Two or Three. The first step towards achieving this is attending. Therefore, it is important we are on time each morning and in class at all times. If your student is sick, please contact me or the front office to let them know. If you wish to speak about learning progress towards NCEA or their career pathway, please get in contact with me or your student's kaiārahi. Hopefully, you were able to get some great information about this at the recent Academic Conferencing at school.

It has been great to have whānau, aiga, and pamilya come into school last week to celebrate the learning of our students with the Wā Whakanui and Academic Conferencing.

As winter has well and truly set in, making sure we have the correct uniform items to keep our students warm is a priority. If you need support with getting the correct uniform, please get in contact with me. Wearing our uniform with pride is something we must continue to do.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Martin-Bowen and our ten kaiārahi for their continued work with the Kōwhai whānau this term. Well done to all the students who also won the inter-house netball tournament last week. Ka pai Kōwhai whānau! Haere tonu koutou!

The whakatauki I will leave you with today is about resilience and not giving up. It has been a challenging year for our learners, staff, school community, and country. However, we have all battled on and shown how strong we all are. Kia kaha. Kia māia. Kia manawanui.
