Karaka House Dean's Report

Robbie Timo —

Talofa lava, greetings from Karaka house.

What a great start to 2020 with Karaka winning the Tabloid Sports afternoon! It was a great day with lots of fun events and students supporting their house colours proudly for all to see. Welcome to a new year that has plenty to look forward to. We have the Olympics in July/August in Japan with many athletes having spent the past four years training hard for this event.

On March 14th we have Polyfest which displays all in Pasifika pageantry after many rehearsals and sacrifices to bring the final polished performance. Summer sport is well and truly underway with volleyball and touch competitions going full noise. This is also the time registrations are being taken for junior rugby league football and netball clubs as they prepare for the winter competitions. Please ensure you take your child along to the registration days that are being advertised, or search on club websites for the dates and times.

Our focus this term has been on the value of respect. Respecting people, their property and acting respectfully around school and the wider community. It's great to see our new Year 7 students in their brand new uniforms and PE gear. Please ensure you label these appropriately and just a reminder that devices, wireless headphones etc. need to be safely put away or left at home.

Karaka kaiārahi for 2020.
