Excellence in Year 13 Business

Lukas Davidson —

Abdullah Wahidi, Paigan-Lilly Hall, Josh Stiles and Luka Russell formed a Year 13 business team competing in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise competition this year. For their project they created a children's book 'A Trip Around the World' designed to promote diversity amongst young readers and to 'say no to racism'.

The first print run of the book flew off the shelves resulting in a sellout within 2 weeks. The book can also be found in several libraries around Christchurch. Their success was picked up in the national media which is testament to the uniqueness of their product and vision. The news article can be found on the following link: Student who grew up in war-torn country inspired to tackle racism in New Zealand.

Additionally, they were presented with the excellence award for customer and market engagement at the Young Enterprise regional finals last week. It's been an amazing year for these students and we would like to congratulate them on all their hard work and the success that has come with it. Asiana would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers and businesses that supported them on their journey along with their business mentor Sunita Gautam.
