Reform of the Tomorrow’s Schools system.
On Tuesday 11 November the Education Minister, the Honorable Chris Hipkins, announced a reform of the Tomorrow’s Schools system. Iona Holstead, the Secretary of Education - i.e. the leader of the Ministry of Education - has stated that these "significant" reforms aim for:
- "more frontline support closer to schools to give every child the best chance to succeed"
- education as "a more networked and supported system to be more responsive to the needs of learners/ākonga and their whānau"
Iona Holstead further states that these changes will:
- "require an ongoing investment of both time and resource. They will need to be managed in a coherent and connected way over the next 5-10 years."
