Karaka House Dean's Report

Robbie Timo —

An update of all things related to students in the Karaka whānau.

Talofa lava everyone.

Well done in getting your children to all look outstanding in their uniforms. Uniform has been a focus this term as we pushed reset at our new location of Linwood College at Ōtākaro. Next term our focus is being punctual, getting to school on time, promptly moving to class when the first bell sounds and arriving before the second. And we will also endeavour to keep our new space tidy as Spring has made the trees and shrubs colourful. There are plenty of bins around and if we take care of our rubbish, then nobody else has to.

Titiro whakamuri; kokiri whakamua.

Look back and reflect, so you can move forward.

There has been a lot achieved in the short time we have been here at LCŌ and everybody has made it their own. I remember students and teachers looking for rooms that didn’t exist or constantly asking for directions. Everything seems like second nature now.

As we move into Term Four, the seniors have exams and are studying really hard to ensure they pass. Congratulations to those who are on track with their credits and have worked really hard throughout the year. There are also those that are leaving our school and we wish them well in their endeavours.

Big shout out to Marvin Brimon who will be representing our school in the Chess competition Term Four. Best of luck, Marvin.

I would also like to thank all our house leaders for the wonderful work they have done with our House Coordinators during the year. Outstanding work. Please, everyone have a wonderful break as we look forward to our final term for 2019.

Tofa soifua,

Robbie Timo
