Room 4 designed a 'Basketball Tower STEM engineering challenge' that could support a basketball in groups today. They were only able to use newspaper and masking tape.

The tower was to support a basketball for 20 seconds and bonus points were given if a group constructed the tallest tower possible! The students amazed me with their group efforts. They asked and answered questions, brainstormed to generate and compare multiple solutions to meet the design challenge, discussed different ways to construct the tower, encouraged one another and used their creativity and ingenuity! It was definitely a challenge with only one group managing to find a structure that would support the weight of the basketball and without the ball rolling off. Well done to Jessica, Ivy, Oscar and Jimmy! It was so much fun that we are looking forward to more 'Team Building' activities with Mrs Page on Friday's. Mrs Page.
