On the 4 March 2022 we left the Invercargill Airport and flew to Auckland . We rented a truck and drove down to Hamilton.
On Sunday the 6 March 2022 I competed in the pre-Nationals which is a competition that is held before the Nationals. I was placed19th out of 22 in my age group. After the weekend we practiced at 7 other BMX tracks around the Waikato, 2 in Cambridge and1in each Hamilton Rotorua and Te Awamutu and two others around the area. That Friday I competed in the Mighty 11's which only the 11 year olds can enter into.The top 4 go on to compete in Australia. Sadly I did not make it.
Saturday morning we started the Nationals. I raced with the 12yr olds as that will be my age this year. I had 4 races and was placed 5th, 6th 7th and on my last race I was 8th.
Overall I was 20th out of 24 in my age group.
On Sunday we flew back to Queenstown feeling very tired but delighted with my achievements.
