On Thursday, 11 March, 2021 the Lochiel School Chess team consisting of Alex, Angus, Charlie and Jack took part in an on-line Chess tournament.

There were 80 other students participating from all over NZ and each player had to play 5 random opponents. The Lochiel team came 3rd over all which is fantastic.

Overall our ranking from this tournament was Alex 4th, Angus 7th, Charlie 8th and Jack 19th.

Angus earned a Candor badge for Honesty and a Pawn Power badge getting Checkmate with a Pawn.

The team are already looking forward to the next tournament on 8 April 2021.
