Week 6, Term 2 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this newsletter finds you well as we delve into the sixth week of Term 2. We are excited to share some fantastic updates with you regarding the remarkable progress your children are making in mathematics and literacy. Additionally, we would like to remind all parents to submit the necessary information for our upcoming ski trip. Read on for all the details!
Celebrating Mathematics Success
Our students have been actively engaged in mathematics learning, and we are delighted to witness their continuous growth and achievements. From mastering fundamental concepts to tackling complex problem-solving tasks, their enthusiasm and dedication have been truly impressive. The teachers have been implementing various interactive activities, group discussions, and hands-on experiences to foster a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
We encourage you to take some time to discuss with your child their recent math endeavours. Ask them about the strategies they are employing and how they are approaching different types of problems. This will not only reinforce their learning but also provide an opportunity for you to appreciate their progress. At present we have Sharon Taylor from the Otago University working in classes with students and teachers. Sharon is spending 50 hours over the next two terms in our school working alongside us.
Literacy Excellence
In the realm of literacy, our students have been excelling in their reading and writing skills. Their creativity and critical thinking has been shining through their imaginative stories and thoughtful essays. We have been witnessing remarkable improvements in vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
Please make sure you download the HERO app for you can view your child's success in these areas over the term.
Ski Trip Reminder
As we previously announced, our highly anticipated school ski trip is fast approaching! The trip is scheduled for Friday, 4 August 2023. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, we kindly remind all parents to submit the necessary information as soon as possible.
