Communication with Lochiel School

Mary MillerMarch 15, 2020

We understand the importance of communication with parents and the wider community and consequently use a variety of methods to send messages out. There are also many avenues for the community to contact Lochiel School.

E-mails - we encourage email addresses (and other contact details) to be up to date on our system. If there is a change to any details (address, phone number, email etc) we would appreciate the school being contacted so we can up-date these. We primarily use emails to send information directly to our parents - this includes the Newsletter and other important information.

SchoolStream - this is an app that can easily be downloaded to your phone (go to Google Play or App Store, search "SchoolStream" and download. Once downloaded, when opened it will ask for the school - search "Lochiel School" and select our school). Once this is completed, you will receive the notifications that are sent through this service (note that the app also has other functions like reporting an absence, our newsletters etc). We tend to use this for things like cancellations and reminders for students and parents.

Facebook - if you are not currently following our school Facebook, we recommend that you do. We tend to use this medium for highlighting events we have had, celebrating successes and promoting the students through images and videos.

Website - the Lochiel School website is up to date and also includes our newsletters and relevant articles.  Check it out at www.lochiel.school.nz

Contact the school - you can contact the school by phone (03 2217079), by email (office@lochiel.school.nz), the "Contact Us" link through the school app, through Facebook or by dropping into the office. Options specifically for reporting an absence are phone, email (office@lochiel.school.nz), or the SchoolStream app.

If you wish to contact your student during class hours (e.g. an emergency), please contact the school and the school will organise the message to be delivered.
