Lochiel School Newsletter - 24 November 2022

Kia Ora Lochiel School Whānau

It has been a huge privilege this week to be a part of the many events Lochiel School has been involved with.  We had a Lochiel School boys team and three of our girls playing in the Central team at the Jonty Carran Memorial Year 7 and 8 Tournament.  I was extremely proud of our children, and the pupils comradery and supportive attitude towards each other.  It was a pleasure to watch both teams play. Huge thanks to Pete Thomson who coached the boys team.

I would like to thank all the parents that helped at Camp Columba on Monday. The pupils had a fantastic day and it was great to hear of the children's achievements.

The Beach Education visits went well, with all the pupils learning about Water Safety.  Huge thanks to the Life Guards that travelled from Dunedin to teach our pupils and to our parents who gave us the right ratios to be in the water.

Next Friday, 2 December 2022 is the Lochiel School Prizegiving.  This event starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Winton Presbyterian Church (Meldrum St). We hope that everyone can bring a plate, as following this event, we will serve supper, with hot drinks available. It will be a lovely celebration for us all to get together and celebrate the year's learning. Each class is performing a Christmas item which will be brilliant to watch, so we require all pupils to be present at this event in correct school uniform. Let us know if you are unable to bring your child as the items are centered around all children being present.

Have a great rest of the week.

Ngā mihinui,

Mary Miller
