Sensational Senior Swimmers

Marcia FergusonNovember 11, 2022

In weeks 3 and 4 of this term, Room 4 and 5 went swimming at the CSC pool. Here is what the students thought about their time in the pool:

"Swimming was so much fun. The water wasn't that cold and I got my favourite corner in the changing rooms. My favourite style of stroke was backstroke and sculling, freestyle is horrible because I can't seem to get the breathing right. Forwards sculling is so much fun so much better than the rest and survival backstroke is a 'meh'.  On the last day we had to wear clothes that we would wear to a picnic. I stupidly wore jeans apparently they were skinny jeans according to one of the boys. Another one of the things I DID NOT like was sitting on the side with my arms wrapped around my body then falling in. Also diving from the side was not nice because I got water up my nose and IT STUNG!  Over all swimming was so much fun and I can’t wait till next year!"  (Nisha)

"I liked swimming -  it was fun.  Sculling for a minute was hard but I enjoyed it. Going through the fake seaweed was fun and so was jumping in with the life jackets.  I liked floating on my back and treading water." (Nate)

"We went to swimming for 3 days this week and 2 says last week it was very fun and my favourite part was the last day when we swam under mats that felt like seaweed and when we made a whirl pool and everyone swam in it.  One thing that was quite challenging was when we had to tread water for 5 minutes." (Zoe)

"I enjoyed swimming, it was fun because I was with my friend Lucas. Swimming was relaxing. It challenged me when we had to take off heavy, waterlogged clothes in the water without touching the bottom. This was challenging because I was wearing a hoodie which was hard to get off. I also found treading water hard because I am not particularly good at the egg beater." (Jack)

"I really enjoyed on the the last day of swimming.  The challenge for me was the floating because I suck at it. The fun part was when we had to take our clothes of in the water, it was a challenge for some people but I found it fun." (Jovi)

"On the first day of swimming, I didn't want to do it because it was cold and I always get a headache. But the water wasn’t that bad and we were only in there for like 30 minutes twice. Swimming was so much fun. I enjoyed it!  I loved back stroke, skulling, treading, jumping in the water and a lot more." (Kenny)
